Let's boost the immune system, naturally, and without spending any money. A Free Gift to the Immune system. There is so much info about supplements already out there; the focus here is on bodily health that doesn't cost anything. This is not medical advice. It's best to consult your health practitioner before changing your diet and lifestyle. A few tips to gift to the body for better immunity and health: 1. Sunlight. Sunlight directly on the skin, ideally without creams or barriers, helps increase our Vitamin D. Vitamin D in turn increases calcium levels. Sunlight helps transport cholesterol to where it needs to go; it helps balance the hormonal system. Sunlight through the naked eyes (no glasses, sunglasses, etc) increases serotonin (the feel-good hormone) and balances melatonin (sleep hormone). Of course, the sunlight needs to be "safe" sunlight, use your common sense. i.e. NOT at 12noon in the middle of summer in South Africa. You will know the amount of sunlight you can handle per day. 2. Avoid heated fats. Heated fats are highly damaging to our health, they are carcinogenic; they increase diseases, like diabetes, heart disease, cholesterol, being overweight, and cellulite. Use cooking methods that exclude fats; first steam or bake foods and add/drizzle oils, avo, after cooking. Fry onions with a little water, or add a tomato or two to stop them from sticking in the pan. Animal foods, naturally contain fat, thus it's best to reduce the intake of animal products. By default, we eat heated fats when eating animal products because animal products need to be cooked. 3. Choose what you eat: food, thoughts, media. The food you put in your mouth matters. The media you "eat" also matters - be selective - don't overeat - choose uplifting media. Our thoughts are affected by what we hear, see and read. Happier thoughts, mean a happier immune system and a stronger body. Fill the mind with positive thoughts and mantras. Let the good things crowd out the bad things - food, thoughts, and media. Implement these 3 immune-boosting tips, this week. Choose a new body, new thoughts, new health; and pay it forward. Your community needs you to be fit on all levels. Freedom of choice and freedom of health.
